Dear Students and Parents,
This coming Saturday, The Lafayette Rotary Club is sponsoring the Concert @ The Res.
On Friday, May 12, at 3pm, Stanley Music Students will load the Orchard Nursery Truck with 45 music stands, percussion equipment, and selected large instruments. Mr. Davidson and Mrs. Reynolds will be there to supervise. It should take no more than twenty minutes, right outside the Music room.
On Saturday, May 13, at 9:30am, The Lafayette Rotary Club will be unloading the truck at the Lafayette Reservoir. (When you arrive to the top of the reservoir road, turn left. The concert is above the east end of the parking lot). Any help with unloading is appreciated.
If you are a Brass Player playing at 11am for the Brass Fanfare, please arrive by 10:30am. Please have your music and instrument. After the fanfare (11:15am), you can obtain your FREE hot dog lunch. If you arrive after the fanfare, performers can receive their free lunch until 2pm.
The Concert at the Res will feature a variety of Music and Dance groups:
11:00am Brass fanfare... "Lafayette Brass"
11:10 Opening and welcoming remarks.

12:40 Acalanes Jazz Ensemble

2:20 Stanley and Westlake combined bands.
If you are performing with the combined bands at 2:20pm, please arrive no later than 2pm. After the performance, we will load the Orchard Truck and return the equipment to Stanley. We can use a lot of help in both places (loading and unloading).
The logistics of the Concert at the Res are very important. This is the first year in 23 that I cannot be in attendance. I will be in Rochester, N.Y. hearing my daughter play the Bartok Violin Concerto #2. When the date for the RES was presented to me, I had already committed to my daughter’s concert. Mr. Randy Porter, Director of Music at Westlake M.S. in Oakland, will conduct the entire concert. We usually split the duties.
I hope that you will support Mr. Porter and the Lafayette Rotary Club.
