Saturday, May 14 - Concert At The Res and Community Service/OPP Knocks

May 11, 2016

Dear Stanley Musicians and Parents,

This Saturday, May 14, is the Concert at The Res.  The Rotary Club of Lafayette is the sponsor of this great event. I'm looking forward to all members of Bronze, Gold, and Symphonic Bands performing with the Westlake M.S. Band from Oakland.   We will perform on the Band Platform to the left of the parking lot (as you are facing the water).  Dress casual, and bring sunglasses and maybe,  a hat.

There is a shuttle from the Reservoir Parking Lot up to the performance area.  This will help someone with a large instrument, a person with special needs, or an elderly person.

Students - Every hour you are playing or helping in some way counts as Opp Knocks or Community Service.

I hope you carve out time in your day to join us.

On Friday, May 13, at 3pm, we will load the Orchard Nursery truck with music stands, large instruments, and percussion.

11:00 Fanfare followed by welcoming remarks
11:05 Bentley Jazz Ensemble
11:30 Acalanes Jazz Ensemble
12:10 Dominant 7 Jazz Ensemble
12:30 Lamorinda Theatre Academy
12:55 Lunch Break and Raffle

1:20   Town Hall Troupe
1:45   Rossmoor Big Band
2:15   Stanley and Westlake combined Bands

3pm - Load the Orchard Nursery truck and return the equipment to Stanley (Even if you don't do anything else, we need help here).

Students - Every hour you are playing or helping in some way counts as Opp Knocks or Community Service.

WE NEED BRASS PLAYERS to play the Brass Fanfare at 11am.

The combined bands play at 2:15pm.

ALL PERFORMERS WILL BE GIVEN A FREE HOT DOG LUNCH.  Mr. Athayde will buy you an ice cream!

Mr. Athayde will buy an ice cream for all Brass Fanfare players.  (Yes, that means that you could score two ice creams!!!)

Any CHORUS or CADET Musicians who help will also earn OPP Knocks or Community Service hours.

THANK YOU PARENTS and Student Musicians!

Bob
