
Bob Athayde

Director of Bands, Jazz Bands and Chorus
Since coming on board as Music Director at Stanley Intermediate School in Lafayette in 1986, Athayde has expanded the size, scope and perception of music both within the district and throughout the greater Lamorinda community. Beginning with 3 classes of 150 students in a modest portable, he now directs 6 band classes, and two early morning jazz ensembles in a newly constructed music center, touching the lives of over 300 students.
Eric Price
Strings / Orchestra
A double bass player and teacher living in Martinez. Eric attended Burton Valley, Stanley and Acalanes. His early teachers include Arlene Fox, Bob Athayde, Loretta McNulty, Rick Meyer, and Barry Green. Price then attended UC Davis for his undergraduate studies in music, followed by graduate studies at Shenandoah Conservatory in Virginia where he earned a master's degree in bass performance. Price is also the founder and director of the East Bay Bass Ensemble which is an all-bass chamber music group for high school students.
